Reiki – Life energy

This post will be kind of exceptional because I don’t want to talk about travelling and my adventures from Menorca. I would like to share with you completely different part of “Lucie’s world”. This time, I would like to tell you about reiki. However, before I share with you my story, I should probably explain what reiki is.

Reiki

The word reiki is made of two Japanese words – “Rei” which means “Higher Power” and “Ki” which is “life force energy”. So reiki is actually spiritually guided life force energy. This energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If the energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. When it’s high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The technique of reiki is based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into a patient by means of light touch in order to activate the natural healing processes of patient’s body. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing that everyone can use.
So now you know what reiki is and I can tell you my story.

How has everything started?

When I was at elementary school, I had some health problems, the doctors didn’t know what to do with me anymore and like that I got into hands of a healer. He was giving energy to the people by his hands. After the first session, I felt much better so i started to go there more often. I was very sensitive at the feeling the energy and once the healer told me that in the future I will be able to give energy by my hands as well. I was always fascinated by these “alternative” things and I’ve read many different books about reiki, chakras etc.

Impulse to learn

The time was passing and I didn’t really think about it much until I met my friend Yara and we got close to each other. For me, she has been very inspiring person and I believe that she was one of the people who gave me the impulse to learn more about reiki. During my stay in Mallorca, sometimes I could feel the flowing energy in my body, especially in my hands. It felt like spreading heat in my body and I am sure that it wasn’t the heat from the sun. This experience made me to get more interest in reiki. At the beginning of February I met a friend that I had no idea practices reiki but when he started to use it on me, I recognized it immediately. After that I decided to take part in the course of the first reiki level.

First level of reiki

At the end of February I went to the course and I had no idea what to expect. The course started at 9:00 in the morning and we finished almost at 18:00 in the evening. We were about twelve people coming from different parts of the country. We had never met each other but the atmosphere there was very pleasant and friendly. During the day we learnt some theoretical things and then we tried everything practically. We learnt the basic universal laws, some of the symbols, we were talking about seven chakras in the body, we also learnt how to work with pendulum. After the lunch we had the reiki attunement (iniciation) ritual that makes you able to give energy to yourself and to the others, the ritual was followed by the meditation. After that we were giving reiki to each other. At the end we learnt how to see aura and then we just repeated everything we learnt during the day and shared our experiences.

Practice after the course

After finishing the first course, I was trying to practice reiki with some people and the feelings were always different. Sometimes I felt heat in my hands, sometimes my hands were burning, sometimes I felt cold, sometimes prickling, sometimes I could even feel where the person has pain, it kind of transfered to me so I would know where the problem is. I did everything intuitively. Of course I was also giving reiki to myself and I felt that it’s good for me. I even bought my own pendulum to be able to use it during the reiki sessions. When I went to Mallorca in March, Yara and me made a reiki session one evening. The experience for both of us was amazing, it’s even hard to describe our feelings.

Second level course

When I was practicing reiki, I realized that I want to know more about it before I leave for Spain. That’s why I decided to take part in the second level course at the beginning of April. The first level was practically supposed to teach us to give energy to ourselves but of course it made us able to give to others as well. The second level course was more focused on giving energy to the others, we learnt more symbols and we were trying to use it.
At the beginning all of us shared our current experience with reiki. Most of the people were the same like in the previous course and all of us could see the change in others. We were more relaxed, more smiley, more energetic. Some people even reduced or stopped having a pain or other problems. Everybody did his own experiments with reiki and found out that it really works.

Me, you and reiki

Anyway, the second course gave me stronger ability of giving energy to the others, also in distance, as well as many new symbols to use during the session. After the course I decided that I want to continue with reiki and when I’m back in the Czech republic I really want to pass the third level of reiki. Reiki is something special. If you believe in it, read more about it or take the basic first level course to have the ability to heal your own body. If you’re interested in it, you want to get a reiki therapy or you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me. If you think it’s stupid, I will not try to persuade you. It’s your choice. Your life. Your body. Just take care of yourself. Your body deserves it. You deserve it. You are worth living a good life.
