From the hotel animation to Lucie’s Yoga World

Long time no see

I know it’s been a long time since I published my last post. With all the things going on in my life, I kind of disconnected from blogging. Many times I thought about posting something but I felt like it’s not the right time. I didn’t feel inspired. Sometimes it made me a bit sad not to continue posting but hopefully I will get back to it again.

Since my last post from April 2022 there have been several changes in my life. I think that finally I am ready to share with you some pieces of my life from the past two years.

The end of my animation journey

In December 2022 I decided to quit my favourite job – the animation. It was a hard decision after 10 years working in different hotels in Greece and Spain. But I just felt like it’s time to step out of my comfort zone and start something new. (Or maybe it’s just a break and one day I’ll get back to it? Who knows!)

Yoga journey

In January/February 2023 I went to India for the second time. I had realized that it was time to take advanced yoga teacher training (YTT) and decided to do my 300 hours YTT in Goa Yogashala in Agonda, South Goa. In the same place but different school (Sarvaguna Yoga) where I took my 200 hours yoga teacher training in 2020. I loved the place so that’s why I chose to go back there.
Since I felt like my first India travel got quite short (5 weeks), this time I flew there for 7 weeks. The training took 4 weeks and then I had another 3 weeks for travelling – I can talk about that next time.

Back in Spain

At the end of February I went back home to the Czech Republic to see my family and friends. At the beginning of March I flew to Spain. Without animation my life in Motril felt kind of incomplete, but at the same time I was excited about planning my new projects. I actually created two projects even though till now I have only released one. In June 2023 I started working as independent yoga teacher and my yoga page (surprisingly) got named Lucie’s Yoga World. I do yoga classes on the beach or in the park in Almuñécar. So if you ever come for holidays, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
(I might mention my second project later on.)

Working in Helios

In June I also got an offer to work in the hotel Helios again. When I was working there in animation, as a part of my job I was helping as a hostess in the restaurant. And that’s the job I accepted doing last summer. I really enjoyed working there and I was very happy to see many guests I already knew from the past years. In the end, I only ended up working there for three months during the summer season because then it got incompatible with my work as a yoga instructor. Even though I enjoyed the work, I realized that I need to focus more on my goals and my own growth.

Holiday in Menorca

When I stopped working in the hotel, I decided to take a short holiday and spent few days in Menorca. Menorca is the island that I fell in love with. I spent there two summer seasons working in Grupotel Aldea Cala’n Bosch in 2017 and 2018. I always love going back to this paradise. Some of my friends are also still there, so it’s always nice to see them and catch up. This time I also went to see my colleagues in the hotel and it was a great surprise for them as nobody knew I was coming! Anyway, I enjoyed my time there very much and I also recharged my batteries for the next chapter.

Lucie’s Yoga World

When I came back to the Spanish mainland, I finally felt like I have more time and more energy to focus on growing my “yoga world”. I started doing more promotion and trying to gain more clients for my yoga classes. Because of that I also met many new people and made new connections.

The journey

When I started teaching yoga independently, I knew that it won’t be easy but I was craving the flexibility and freedom so I wanted to make it work. At the moment I am still on the way towards my goal, my dream. Despite of everything, I am enjoying the journey itself. It makes me feel grateful for each client, for each opportunity and for each yoga class I lead. I am happy to see the progress in the practice of my students. I love teaching the classes and feeling that my work is meaningful.

My new life

This whole new experience makes me grow and learn. It also makes me feel proud of myself because I stepped out of my comfort zone. I decided to create something and didn’t know how everything will turn out. I took the risk and I was willing to make it work somehow. Now I am still on the path but I am happy. I feel free and I appreciate every single moment of my “new life”. Even though it’s not always easy, it was worth to change.

Every end is a new beginning

To end working in animation was difficult to decide but as they say, “every end is a new beginning”. By stepping out of my comfort job, I became the creator of my own life. I started creating my new life how I wanted. On the way I have been gaining different experiences, learning new things, meeting new people and getting new opportunities. I don’t regret my decision at all. I just feel so grateful for this new chapter of my life.
